Blanking

Blanking Process

Blanking is a specialised press-forming operation in which a specific flat shape (a “blank”) is cut from a larger sheet or coil using a die. This process is ideal for producing multiple identical parts with high precision and efficiency, and is commonly used for components that will undergo further forming or assembly.

Pre-leveled sheets from our CTL line or directly from coils are fed into a high-tonnage blanking press.

A custom-designed die (male punch and female die) precisely cuts the desired shape from the sheet.

The “blank” is cleanly separated from the parent material, while the scrap skeleton is either removed or recycled.

Blanks are collected and stacked, ready for the next manufacturing stage.

Blanking delivers accurately sized, ready-to-use steel pieces that significantly reduce downstream processing time. It ensures consistent quality, minimises material waste, and enhances overall production efficiency.
